The Big Lemon has launched a campaign to get more Lemon buses on its Service 42 between Brighton City Centre and the Universities of Brighton and Sussex, so we can provide more people with the friendly, affordable and sustainable bus services for which we are now recognised.
Help us get more people on the Lemon bus!
As a Community Interest Company, most of our profits go straight back into the service, so with more people on the buses we can buy more buses and provide our passengers with a more frequent and cheaper service.
Quite simply, the more people use The Big Lemon, the more buses we can run, and the less each passenger has to pay
Our aims are as follows:
1. Increase our ridership (bums on seats) to enable us to buy another bus to increase the frequency from September.
2. Make sure we continue to cover our costs so we do not have to raise prices again in 2009.
3. Continue to increase our ridership in the long term, to enable us to fix prices for long periods, or even reduce them.
Most of our costs are fixed, so if more people use our service, the amount we have to charge each one is less.
